As we approach the end of 2025, I thought it would be helpful to share a fully transparent summary of funding and project expenditure for the year, across the various projects connecting to Britain’s Biggest Living Garden.

Other grants
£5,000 awarded from HGS Trust but not yet drawn towards the cost of installing the circuit path in Lyttelton
£20,000 grant application made to National Lottery towards the costs of installing the circuit path in Lyttelton (no decision yet)
£110,000 grant application made to Mayor of London Greener Roots fund to cover the cost of circuit path installation (estimated at £55,000), a large drainage project for the Norrice Lea end of the park (estimated at £50,000) and planting around the outside perimeter of the path (which was already consulted with local residents as part of the path consultation). This grant application was not successful
Other expenditure related to the park
This freedom of information response from Barnet Council in response to a request from a local resident details some a further CIL grant that was raised and spent in the park by our local Councillor and a potential grant of £20,000 for 2026 related to flood management. Neither of these have anything to do with the Friends of Lyttelton Group
